Carbonated Water

In our humble hut, the more fizzy the soda - the better. At times, we'll skip purchasing soda and head straight for the sparkling water or seltzer water.

Both are wonderful bases for 100% juice. We'll add a desired amount along with some sweetener. Sugar substitute can also be used to keep the caloric values as minimal as possible.

While carbonated water isn't the healthiest OR the unhealthiest beverage on the planet, there are much healthier choices - such as 100% juice. But it's fun to add this bubbly brew to our daily eating plan every now and then.

Those Empty Calories

Soda is known for its empty calories. What this means is that it holds significant kcals but almost all areas where vitamins and minerals are concerned lay empty - or at minimum amounts.

A twelve ounce serving of cream soda contains about 190 kcals. If we bump the serving size up to 16 ounces, we're looking at about 250 kcals. Gee - we can opt for many other foods that will keep us feeling satisfied while in turn satisfying our body's nutritional needs.

For 250 kcals - we can enjoy a taco at most fast food restaurants and have energy values left over - enough for a healthy side salad.

On that note, let's look at the nutrition facts for Cream Soda posted in the following data chart.
