As used in coffee & teas - table creamer.

I'm as Light as a Feather!

There is nothing Scrooge about light cream. It contains about one-half the caloric content as its full-blown big brother. And of course - because it is light, it contains less fat - but odds are, you won't even miss it.

If you purchase the flavored creamers at your local market, most regular blends contain 35 or more kcals per Tablespoon.

Speaking of which - when is the last time that you dusted off your measuring spoons and went for a test drive.

After you read this award winning health article - I'd like you to go to your humble kitchen, find those measuring spoons and fill the Tablespoon with water.

You'll instantly see that it's a tiny amount of water.

Even the Light Coffee Creamers Steep in Calories, Fats

In fact, where those commercial creamer blends are involved - it usually takes far more than one Tablespoon to register on the taste buds. If you add two of the regular brew - you're up to 70 kcals if it contains 35 per serving. And if you add double that, then you'll had added close to 150 kcals.

For that amount you can enjoy any of the following foods:

3 Rice Cakes (yuckers)
10 Pretzel Rods (things are looking better)
1.5 ounces of reduced fat cheese (goody!)
1 entire medium size bag of frozen strawberries or peaches or mixed veggies (goody gumdrop!)
A serving of reduced fat chicken noodle soup plus a stack of six multi grain crackers. (fainting good!)

In Summary

If you're doctoring your coffee and tea with cream, if you're using that big brother stuff - then it's time to switch to the lower fat version. Your bathroom scales will be deliriously happy if you do such!
