At only 210 calories per serving size this menu item makes a good selection for dessert while you're dieting - and when you wish to order a dessert.

It's also minimum in total fat and sodium - and the healthy amount of fruit will add nutritional values to your meal.

Let's see how dieter Sunny added this side item to her meal without exceeding her daily set calorie total.

Whole Lot of Side Items Going On

Sunny visited Chili's restaurant for lunch and wasn't all that hungry. She decided that something from the Side Item menu would hold her off until later in the evening - when supper time rolled around. She wanted to order something light and low in fat.

Rather than viewing the 'Calories' column, Sunny decided to look at the 'Total Fat Grams' column. After all, the more dietary fat that is contained in a food, the higher in energy values (kcals) that the selection tends to be - almost 100% of the time.

Sunny Considers Cinnamon Apples & Kettle Black Beans

The Cinnamon Apples contain only 8 grams while the Kettle Black Beans with Pico de Gallo contain zero. The Rice contains 1 gram and the steamed broccoli contains 6. The Seasonal Grilled Veggies contains only 6 too and that appeals to Sunny more so than the broccoli. Grilling tends to bring out the lovely flavors of food and she could almost taste those vegetables.

As she continued studying the selections on the Chili's menu she discovered that where the Side Items were concerned - almost all of them were very low in total fat content.
