The leaner the cut, the better and when it comes to wings, those that are skinless will best-work with your weight loss plan.

While fried chicken tastes divine - all of those fabulous recipes revolving around the roasted, grilled or oven baked varieties will contain far less calories.

Low Calorie Recipes for Wings

One of our favorite glazes for poultry is comprised on only two ingredients: bottled chili sauce and grape jelly. As a side note, any flavor of jelly can be used - so choose the flavor that you like the best.

One of our most recent discoveries when visiting the market was cherry jelly. We've seen it in preserve form before, but never in a jelly state. It's truly delicious; it has a light red color that's quite beautiful.

With the skin left on the wing, each will contains about 110 calories. But when we remove the skin - oh my, we are also removing much of the fat content and most of the caloric values. Each goes from about 100 kcals all the way down to 37. What a deal for dieters, eh!

While many recipes require that the meat be soak or marinated for a particular amount of time - at times, overnight - for this recipe we'll toss our wings onto the grill or into the oven - or a roasting pan on top of the stove and cook until the wings are done and the juices run clear.

Now it's time to add the glaze. To make, simply combine the jelly and chili sauce in equal amounts. Brush onto the meat and cook until the glaze reaches the desired appearance.
