Dehydrated Apples are Higher in Caloric Values in Comparison to their Natural Source

Although a bit high in calories when compared to raw apples, dehydrated apples go a long way where extending flavors and textures in foods are concerned. Our favorite tips for dieters include the following suggestions:

Add a few bits to salads along with a few of your favorite chopped nuts. The English walnut as well as the pecan go wonderfully well with this dried fruit selection.

Be sure to stuff your salad with lots of leafy greens; if you add a few slices of avocado and a bit of chopped tomato, then you'll be adding more servings from the Fruit Group.

Salads are very easy-peasy when it comes to inserting all of the basic five food groups - even where vegetarians are concerned. And adding beans or cooked dried peas over animal proteins makes a healthy addition for all dieters, not just vegetarians.

Add chopped bits to low fat ice cream and frozen yogurt for an occasional treat. Even if you're not a fan of yogurt you might be of the frozen variety; it doesn't taste anything like that found in the dairy case.

Speaking of yogurt, add a few chopped bits for added texture and flavor. Sprinkle on a dash or two of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to extend the flavors even further.

Dietary Fiber Content, Dried Apples

Note the impressive dietary fiber content in dehydrated apples; one cup contains over seven grams for a small cost in calories at about 200 kcals. Again - that's for an entire cup!

This amount of food makes a sizeable snack and due to the dietary fiber content, it will stick to the ribs longer than opting for a tiny wad of candy that contains more fat than vitamins and minerals.

Distribution of Fat, Potassium Benefits in Dehydrated Apples

There is a lot to love about the dried apple. We have its outstanding flavor and texture - it's notable low-caloric values while it plays beautiful notes of fiber - and it's very low in sodium content. It contains zero cholesterol, a dash of protein benefits and iron and Vitamin K content. One of the most impressive nutritional areas for this dried fruit is related to its significant potassium content; it's close to 400 mg per 1 cup - more than one small banana (362 mg).
