Active Ingredients

The active ingredients are: probiotics [Bacillus Coagulans], prebiotics [fermented vegetable paste, cyclodextrin powder, malted brown rice, Lactobacillus Brevis], and green tea catechins.

This product supposedly uses a trinity of elements to achieve results: Probiotics, Prebiotics and Green Tea.

Let's take a deeper look:

A. Prebiotics are nondigestible carbohydrate dietary supplements which promote growth of favorable microflora within the large bowel.

B. Probiotics are substances which contain live microorganisms that claim to be beneficial to humans via restoring the balance of microflora within the digestive tract.

C. Green tea contains antioxidants called catechins as well as compounds which may assist in supporting good health.

It is associated with multiple claims related to improved health and the human body - ranging from fighting certain cancers to reducing bad cholesterol to combating heart disease to reducing risk for dementia.

It's important to note that the majority of viable studies for green tea had been the product of laboratories located in the eastern part of the world where the tea is a standard beverage.

Much remains to be discovered in order to uncover many health claims associated with green tea. What we do know via studies in humans is that drinking a minimal of two cups of green tea per day slows the growth of certain cancers such as stomach, pancreatic, lung, esophageal, colorectal and prostate cancers.

Based on the ads, one serving of Nutri Diet contains more catechins than found in a dozen cups of green tea.

D. Twenty Fermented Vegetables; the ad states that these vegetables are staples of the Japanese diet [listed specifically above].

E. Catechins which are specific types of antioxidants that are generally found in açaí oil, apples, berries, cocoa beans, dark chocolate, grapes, red wine and green tea and white tea. They work to rid the body of free radicals which can cause cell damage which when compromised can lead to health issues such as cancer.

F. Ayamurasaki Powder is used to coat the Nutri Diet tablets. The NCBI [National Center of Biotechnology Information] has conducted tests with Ayamurasaki [APSP] using mice as subjects. They reported that APSP had no effect on body weight or cholesterol or lipid levels in plasma.

Ayamurasaki is a derivative of the purple sweet potato Ipomoea Batatas cultivar.

In Summary

There are products that may be confused with Nutri Diet, such as the Nutri System Plan. There are also mealworms and fish flakes that bear the Nutri Diet name but to our knowledge have no connection with this product.

If you are thinking about using Nutri Diet to lose weight or improve health we strongly suggest that you consult your doctor before doing such.
