Let's shift gears and take our Ramen Noodles to Italy, shall we?

And when we think about Italian food we often think of the following: rich cheese, olives, mushrooms and tangy tomato sauces.

We'll use all of these ingredients in this tasty, economical recipe.

The Recipe Ingredients for Italian Style Ramen Noodles

1 package of any variety of Ramen Noodle; seasoning packet to be omitted
1 Tablespoon of margarine, 50 to 60 calories is a good number to aim for
1 cup of your favorite marinara or spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup of shredded Italian style mozzarella or white-based cheese, reduced fat
1/4 cup of sliced ripened black olives
1/2 cup of thinly sliced mushrooms of any variety, sauteed
1/4 cup of chopped onion, sauteed

Preparation Notes, Nutrition

NoodlesPrepare the noodles as directed on the package instructions, omitting the seasoning packet. Drain off excess water and add the margarine. Stir.

In another pan, sauté the mushrooms and onion using cooking spray. Transfer to the noodles. Add the olives and red tomato sauce of your choice [marinara or spaghetti]. Stir to incorporate and transfer to a casserole dish. Top with the cheese and bake at 350 degrees until the cheese melts. Serve with whole grain bread sticks and unsweetened tea.
