The Easy Diet Plan Snack List - Aim to keep Snacks (discretionary calories) at about 200 calories.

You can enjoy anything that your heart (or tummy) desires that contains 200 calories or less. Some healthy snack choices include:

- fruit & veggies (the obvious, eh?)

- jerky

- hot air popcorn; try spraying with no calorie butter spray then coating with Splenda and cinnamon

- sugar free gelatin and puddings

- string cheese

- nuts and seeds

- peanut butter spread on whole grain bread (Peter Pan's whipped variety contains about 1/3 less calories than the original creamy variety; 140 calories vs 190 calories)

- celery stick stuffed with whipped cream cheese or light pimento cheese

- yogurt but do pay attention to the calorie content as some brands/varieties contain as much as a small candy bar

- dark chocolate

- dark chocolate cocoa topped with a serving of whipped cream (skim milk should be used to prepare cocoa and Splenda for sweetening)

- ice cream or sherbet; the lighter, low fat versions of ice cream will save calories so you can enjoy more for less

- try coring a small apple and cooking it in the microwave; top with cinnamon, a pat of margarine and Splenda for a wonderful treat that contains about 100 calories

- try slicing a banana into thin rounds and freeze

- I enjoy toasting large marshmallows over my stove top; for 25 calories each, they make an awesome sweet treat!

- if you enjoy candy bars, seek the ones that contain nuts and dark chocolate for a more heart-healthy choice

- for Pie Lovers, seek fruit based pies over cream and custard versions

- for Cake Lovers, opt for coffee cake and muffins over iced creations; or try dabbling your taste buds in biscotti - a very low calorie dessert that you can make at home with a cake mix

- for Cookie Monsters, opt for the smaller cookies such as vanilla wafers and ginger snaps; you can enjoy 4 to 6 times more cookies in comparison to larger cookies

- dried fruit also makes a lovely snack but tends to be much higher in calories than its fresh counterpart
