Macaroni is basically a combination of pasta, cheese, cream or milk and butter - all of which are high in calories and/or fat. Keeping this in mind, let's see if we can trim off a few mac n cheese calories using the recipe below:

Lower Calorie Recipe for Macaroni and Cheese:

To one cup of cooked macaroni add 1/4 cup of skimmed, grated mozzarella cheese, 1 teaspoon of no calorie butter spray, salt & pepper, and 1/4 cup of skimmed milk.

Stir gently until incorporated.  Top with 1/4 cup of additional skimmed, grated mozzarella cheese.

Pop into microwave until cheese melts. OR, place into a preheated 350 degree oven until cheese melts.

Makes enough mac n cheese for two for about 250 calories each.
