1 small can of kidney beans
1/4 cup salsa (your favorite)
1 - 3 Tablespoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon of ground cumin
1 small can of petite tomatoes, diced
1/2 cup of chopped onions (or use dried onions if preferred)
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)
This low calorie recipe for Black Bean Chili goes together in a flash. Entire recipe contains about 950 calories and is super-duper filling! Take things up a notch by adding ground cumin and cilantro to the beans. Enjoy with a salad mix of lettuce, chopped tomatoes, fresh chopped cilantro and chopped onions.
Step 1: Saute onions using cooking spray in a deep pot.
Step 2: Add beans, salsa & chili powder to the pot with the onions. Or if you prefer, use chili sauce rather than salsa.
Step 3: Add diced tomatoes and cook until hot.
