Be sure to get your doctor's thumbs-up before going on any diet plan. With your doctor's approval, our Three Day Grapefruit Diet Plan may work very well in jump-starting your weight loss plan. Our Grapefruit Diet Plan is based on a 1,350 calorie menu. If you have more than 75 pounds to lose, you'll need to increase your daily calories to about 1,500 per day. If you have more than 100 pounds to lose, please check with your doctor for daily calorie recommendations while dieting. Take note that our Three Day Grapefruit Diet is not a reduced sodium diet. You may use salt and pepper as desired. Any variety of grapefruit that is about 4" in diameter may be used. In addition, we recommend use of no-calorie sweetener but some individuals may prefer to use sugar. Just be sure to count the calorie-cost as sugar contains 800 calories per cup. We also recommend using butter-flavored cooking spray for 'frying' purposes, and Parkay no-calorie refrigerated butter spray for butter/margarine purposes. If real butter, margarine or oils are used, but sure to count the calorie cost - about 120 calories per Tablespoon. You will need a total of three grapefruits for our Three Day Grapefruit Diet Menu. If you experience tummy upset due to the high citrus content, simply switch grapefruit for any variety of melon as calorie content is similar. We also allowed for an evening snack as many dieters tend to find those evening hours the most trying when it comes to resisting food. Beverages: drink water, unsweetened tea, diet soda OR tea sweetened with no-calorie sweetener. Or use lemon/lime juice, Splenda and water to create a tasty lemonade.

Day 1 of the Diet Bites' Grapefruit Diet Plan Breakfast Menu, Grapefruit Diet PlanFood Groups: 1 fruit, 1 grain, 1 protein/meat, 1 dairy 1/2 grapefruit with Splenda 1 piece of 70-calorie (approximately) whole grain bread filled with one egg (scrambled, boiled and chopped, poached, or 'fried' with non-stick cooking spray) 1 cup skim milk (80 calories) or drink 1/2 cup of whole milk Lunch Menu, Grapefruit Diet PlanFood Groups: 1 fruit, 1 grain, 1 protein/meat, 2 vegetable, 1 dairy 1 cup of soup (allow 120 calories) 5 saltine crackers (allow 60 calories) Ham & Cheese Sandwich: use 2 slices of 70-calorie or less whole grain bread and fill with the following: - lettuce leaves OR baby spinach Afternoon Snack, Evening Snack1 Medium Banana, 1 Small Peach Food Groups: 1 fruit Dinner Menu, Grapefruit Diet PlanFood Groups: 1 protein/meat, 3 vegetables, 1 grain, 3 fruits 1 lean pork chop about 3 ounces cooked - you can grill, broil, 'pan fry' using cooking spray, or bake Creamy Potatoes: Use 1 SMALL potato thinly sliced covered with 1/2 cup of skim milk and a teaspoon of Parkay no calorie butter spray, a bit of salt and pepper. Stir, then cook in microwave for about 5-10 minutes - or until potatoes are tender. 1 cup of any of the following cooked vegetables: broccoli, cauliflower, squash, cabbage 1 slice of 70-calorie or less whole grain bread Citrus Salad: Using the remaining grapefruit half from breakfast, peel and seed grapefruit. Add 1 small sliced kiwi, 1 small peeled and seeded orange. Be sure to remove the membrane for a sweeter salad. Add a bit of ground cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of real brown sugar. Stir and enjoy. If more sweetness is desired, add a bit of Splenda or other no calorie sweetener. Evening SnackFood Groups: 4 grain 3 cups of HOT AIR POPCORN sprayed with Parkay no calorie butter spray.
