Weight Gain - How 'It' Unexpectedly Happens

How Dieter Delta Regained 5 Pounds...

Dieter Delta had achieved a 50 pound weight loss in record time. Her weight loss technique had involved counting calories and making healthier foods choices in her daily diet.

About 2 weeks after Delta's weight loss success she begin to feel tempted by all her old favorite foods. She didn't want to regain the weight she had lost; no - that had been so difficult and had taken every ounce of willpower she owned.

Then she hit upon a wonderful idea. Gum - chewing gum. It would keep her mouth occupied and fight her temptation.

Delta continued to carefully monitor her calorie intake, but noticed that she was experiencing a slow rate of weight gain. Well, a pound or two wasn't enough to get all stressed out about, she assured herself. Probably water weight anyway. To help curb her appetite, she chewed even more gum.

Lucky for Delta that we are here waving a big red flag at her before she experiences a ten pound weight gain in about six months. What oh what could be the culprit in Delta's calorie-wise daily diet? It's that pesky gum. She is going through a Diet-load of the stuff, about 20 sticks per day and at 10 calories per stick, that amounts to an addition 200 calories per day.

Due to our red flag, we are glad to report that Delta cut back on the gum and began to allow for those extra gum calories in her diet on the days that she enjoyed her chewing gum. Delta had originally considered the calories to be so minimal that they couldn't possibly effect her weight.

Little things add up to big things - even weight loss!
