Tapioca Tinman - A Diet-Delicious Low Calorie Dessert

When creamy goodness calls, we are tempted to answer but in doing such, we sometimes end up blowing the numbers off our weight scales, as well as blow our jeans right off our backsides. Never fear creamy goodness again with our Tapioca Tinman low calorie dessert recipe. Hear that call ringing in the distance? Go ahead - answer it. You'll be absolutely de-"lighted"!

Also on the flip-side is our Tapioca Tinman diet recipe contains a good deal of nutritional values due to the wholesome use of milk and egg. Not only is it ultra low in calories, it's flat delicious! And did we mention that it's a snap to make? And as with many of the Diet Bites recipes, we allow the cook the option to make the dessert as sweet as you like, as well as thick as you like.

Creamy desserts are generally packed with calories. The high concentration of calories generally stems from the recipe's use of whole milk and sugar - milk reigning superior when it comes to nutritional values. We've skimmed our dairy ingredient to milk every ounce of goodness to the fullest while keeping calorie content low. Entire recipe contains about 350 calories and makes several servings. Enjoy with a dollop of light topping if desired after pudding is good and cold. Also makes a wonderful pie filling for those special get together's; simply  add a bit more tapioca for thickness.

Only 5 Ingredients for Our Low Calorie, Diet Wise Tapioca Tinman

Two and 3/4 cups of skim milk (220 calories)

1 Tablespoon of Vanilla Extract (0 calories)

1 Egg, well-beaten (70 calories)

1/4 - 1/3 cup of Minute Tapioca (depending upon how thick you like your tapioca)

1/4 - 1/3 cup of Splenda (depending upon how sweet you like your tapioca)

Old-Fashioned Method OR Microwave Method

Place all of the above ingredients into a non-stick pan and allow to sit for five minutes. This will help soften the tapioca. Place onto stove top and heat to boiling point, stirring often. Remove, add vanilla. Tapioca will thicken as it cools.

To microwave, simply place into microwave rather than on stove top. Stir occasionally and keep a close watch so that milk doesn't expand and run over sides of your dish. We recommend using a deep bowl (for obvious reasons). When pudding reaches a boiling point, remove and add vanilla. Cool completely.
