Control Food or It Controls You
by Sky Taylor, Diet Bites
Two hours ago, Jim returned from a hearty lunch which consisted of a Double-BLT and a glass of tomato juice. He had also enjoyed a side-order of fried mushrooms.
But something wasn't quite right. Although it had only been two hours since his generous lunch, Jim found that he was wanting something to munch on. Something like chips, a candy bar or a donut that might still be lingering in the office kitchen - compliments of co-worker Jill who had been nice enough to treat the gang to 'breakfast'.
As Jim wanders into the kitchen, he hits Donut Pay Dirt and ends up eating two stray donuts. A few minutes later he finds himself at the vending machine where he buys a large bottle of milk to wash everything down. Well, milk's healthy, right?
Then everything is going fine as Jim works at his desk on the new project until he gets a yen for something salty. A couple of bags of potato chips later he begins to ponder what the wife might be preparing for dinner. Hopefully her famous batch of enchiladas. All he had for lunch was that dinky sandwich....
In Summary
Okay - we could go on and on, but our point is that Jim has lost control over what he puts into his tummy. Unless we control what we 'choose' to put into our tummies, food/drink will control us.
If you find that you are much like Jim, it's vital that you put on the brakes and stop a disaster in the making. The end result almost always leads to vast weight gain, ill health and a shorter life.
Before placing that next morsel of food or beverage into your mouth, ask yourself:
- Am I really hungry?
- Can I wait to eat until meal time?
- Is there something I can eat that is lower in calories and fat?
By questioning choices before making a commitment, weight gain as well as a lot of Weight Pain can be halted in its tracks.
