Cold weather got you down? You need a cup of cocoa.

Relax and unwind with a good book and a cup of our cream winter cocoa - so chocolately rich and delicious that you won't believe it's low in calories.

This low calorie recipe for cocoa is so simple to make - in less than three minutes you can be holding a steamy mug in your hands.

And you can do such without having to worry about high calories generally associated with hot chocolate beverages.

Dark Chocolate Offers Heart Health Benefits

We used Hershey's Cocoa which is also available in dark chocolate.

For this recipe, we used the original variety which contains a tiny 20 calories per Tablespoon - which is all the chocolate that you'll need to create this double-chocolately cocoa.

How to Prepare Our Creamy Winter Diet Cocoa Recipe

Put cocoa powder in large cup. Add Splenda - as much or as little as you desire depending upon personal taste.

Next, add just a spoon or two of the milk and stir until smooth. Slowly add remaining milk. Heat in microwave until piping hot.

Serving Suggestions, Calories

Serve topped with mini-marshmallows OR a dollop of light whipped topping.

Calories: Without the whipped topping and marshmallows, this low calorie recipe for diet wise cocoa contains a tiny 100 calories per cup.

This recipe is delicious on cold winter or autumn mornings.

I like to enjoy mine with a piece of golden brown toast with just a tab of light margarine spread on top.

It's also a tasty bedtime snack. The added benefit is that milk assists in lulling us to sleep.

A serving of cheese or yogurt will accomplish the same - but just before my pillow hits my head....or is that....just before my head hits my pillow, I'm more in the mood for something warm and soothing to get me through the night.

For we-older individuals, the heat of the mug offers relief to arthritic hands.
