For a tasty diet treat that is ultra low in calories, place a few grapes into the freezer on waxed paper until frozen. Be sure the grapes do not touch one another and leave them in their natural containers with the skin on. These will take a little time to eat and are particularly refreshing on a hot summer day.

Grapes also compliment salads well - both vegetable based salads as well as fruit salads. And you can mix colors as the flavors marry well. A salad containing the following is a healthy mix for your diet plan: any type of raw green vegetables including lettuce, baby spinach, and spring mix. Add cherry tomatoes - or sliced. Add drained black beans or chick peas.

Or you can use lean chicken or your favorite lean meat. Other vegetables that go well with the salad include sliced mushrooms, grated carrot, chopped celery and cucumber. Add the grapes; green and purple look so beautiful in the salad. If you have little ones, be sure to slice the grapes before adding them to the salad. Drizzle with your favorite low calorie salad dressing.

Although grape juice contains about two times the calories as grapes, it's a delicious healthy treat, particularly at the end of a hot summer day. A dieting trick to cut calories is to use about 1/2 a cup of grape juice to 1/2 cup of carbonated water which will render a fizzy treat with 1/2 the calories of 100% grape juice.
