Add Flavor to Foods for Zero Calories
When Little Equals More for Weight Loss

Written by Sky Taylor, Diet Bites

Keeping dieting simple is the stronghold to Weight Loss Success.

The closer the food is to its natural state, fewer calories and more nutrients are born - and it's a great set of twins.

Another perk is that the simpler your food is to make, the sooner you can dig in.  It doesn't take much to send a starved dieter into binge mode, so time is Diet Gold.

Flavor rules when it comes to a satisfying diet plan so with that thought in mind, we'd like to demonstrate how to turn simple food into Diet Dynamite.

For our Diet Demo, let's take a simple, single serving of chicken that is roasting on the grill.

Mmmm, smells very good, doesn't it? Lean, mean - one diet machine all ripped up to shred those unwanted pounds.  And take a look at those grill marks stretched across the grilled chicken.  Those streaks really add Diet Pizzazz.

At this point, we have several options that will transform our roasted chicken into a flavor that's SIMPLY out of the universe.

The following flavors and recipes pop to mind and can be achieved by brushing a simple glaze onto the grilled chicken for minimal calories.  Be sure to check those labels to ensure minimal is truly minimal.

Seasonings for Increasing Flavor in Foods While Dieting

Reach for your spice rack as it's one of the skinniest objects in your kitchen. Most spices contain zero to minimal caloric values - and when a food contains minimal values in the area of calories - this also means that it contains zero to little dietary fat grams.

Think about using spices that you've never tried before with certain foods. Let's use the chicken as our example. Spices that compliment it well include sage, cracked black pepper, rosemary, thyme and oregano. That's just for starters.

What about trying lemon pepper, garlic salt or curry powder on pan-roasted or grilled chicken? Curry is available in several different potions.

After seasoning the cooked meat, transfer to a plate - and rest it atop a serving of rice. Now here is where we give pause yet again - because we can use several different types of rice and we can prepare it in a healthy manner using several different cooking methods.

What about steamed rice? Or why not use jasmine or wild rice? Mixing up our meal plate can assist in keeping our weight loss plan interesting at meal times.

Flavorings & Extracts for Increasing Flavor in Foods While Dieting

These tend to go well with desserts and fruits. Try adding a splash of vanilla extract or imitation extract to a cup of sliced peaches.

Also add a serving of your favorite coffee creamer that will compliment the flavors of the peaches.

And just a dash of ground cinnamon. Stir well and heat in your microwave or on the stove top. A delicious dessert or snack for under 100 calories.

Onions, Chives, Radish, Garlic, Shallots & Leeks - Low Calorie Seasonings for Dieters

All of these vegetables have powerful seasoning powers and can be used to elevate the flavors of your foods. All contain minimal calories and dietary fat grams - so use freely.
