As with all new activity and exercises be sure to start out slow and build from there.

Keep in mind that you're not running a race nor are you in competition with anyone when it comes to dropping those unwanted pounds and in reaching a higher level of health.

If it has been a while since you're exercised, be sure to speak with your personal physician to see if you are in good enough shape to begin an exercise program - and be sure to ask about adding punching bag activity to your weight loss plan.

Stop, Consult Your Doctor if You Feel Pain During Exercise

When you start to exercise, should you feel any pain - particularly in the chest, or a pain that radiates down the arm, though the back or even in the neck, stop exercising and meet with your doctor to discuss.

While the pain may be nothing more than a response to physical activity, it's better safe than sorry.

When choosing gloves, speak with the store associate to ensure that they fit properly and also ask for some advice as to the punching steps - what to do and what not to do.
