Herbs to Ramp-Up Flavors While Dieting, Not Calories

Dieter Wendy was trapped inside a cardboard box. Everything on her plate tasted bland and ugly.

How she longed to lap through the waves of chicken Alfredo, through rich and creamy potato soup and through the fixins' of a fully-loaded baked potato.

She'd give most anything to have one last dance with Mister Meatball.

Maybe even a few pounds....

Let's wave a red flag at Dieter Wendy to draw her out of her trance before she commits Diet Hairy-Carry - and ends up carrying far more pounds than she needs to on her little body.

Implementing herbs into Wendy's weight loss plan can add dimension to her otherwise bland diet and assist her in losing weight, quicker. How so?

Basic Dieting 101:  When food tastes good - it's good for weight loss.

Dieters like Wendy are more inclined to remain on a tasty weight loss plan than one that tastes like a cardboard box.

With this said - it's time to think out of the Diet Box!  Here is how Wendy can add sparkle AND Mister Meatball to her diet.

Herbs - Low Fat Recipes

circle03_skyblue.gif Wendy may find that she enjoys Rosemary's roasted chicken more than she enjoys it 'alfredoed'.  Here's how - plus a few extra tasty, low calorie recipes featuring herbs.

Diet Rosemary's Roasted Chicken Recipe

Sprinkle dried rosemary, cracked pepper and salt onto a chicken breast (skin and all that naughty visible fat totally removed).

Pop the seasoned chicken into a pre-heated 350-degree oven until it reaches a lovely golden brown stage. Serve this lovely dish with couscous, green beans and a whole-grain roll. You can also add some Minty Lemonade.

Minty Herb Lemonade Recipe

Add 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice to a eight ounce glass of water. Add no calorie sweetener, ice chips and a dash of chocolate mint coffee syrup. This is generally found in most larger markets in the coffee section.

Let's see some more recipes from Diet Bites that are tasty, easy to prepare and very low in caloric values, shall we?

Diet Dynamite Chili Recipe

In a heavy pot, toss together 1 can of pinto beans, 1 can of drained kidney beans and 1 can of diced tomatoes.

Add 2 Tablespoons of ground chili powder, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, 1/4 cup of chopped chives, 1/4 cup of chopped parsley, and 1/4 cup of chopped cilantro.

Cook until bubbly hot, then add 1/2 cup of favorite salsa, 1/2 cup of cooked rice and 2 slices of mozzarella cheese.

This recipe will serve a small army of dieters.

Granny Dolittle's Dressing, Low Calorie

Prepare boxed stuffing as directed on box, adding the following to the finished dish: 1/2 cup of caramelized onion, 1/2 teaspoon of dried crushed sage and 1/2 cup of sauteed mushrooms. You can also toss in some dried cranberries if you wish. It's so good!
