In Summary: The introduction of modern foods into the modern day diet has proved disastrous for almost all ethnic groups, particularly with the American Indian. Modern foods are fattier foods, richer foods, creamer foods, sugary foods, fast food and super-sized foods and servings. Reaching out to the roots of the American Indian forefathers provides great hope in keeping weight in check. A diet rich in fruits, seeds, vegetables, nuts and fish are the stilts of the official Food Pyramid.
