Centuries later, the Modern Diet World finally crowned milk as one of the basic necessities in the diet, recognizing its worth in controlling weight. Eggs - from ostrich eggs to snake eggs, eggs were an important staple in the Old World. And who cared about getting heart disease when you would probably end up getting gobbled up by a dinosaur before you reached that mid-life crisis stage?
On the bright side, the heightened activity level burned calories like a match on dry hay, allowing early man to consume a high amount of calories. However, the foods available during this era contained few calories at best. No cheesecake, no chocolate cakes and no banana pie until the cave baby squished up a banana and accidentally dropped it into a coconut bowl of milk. And that's why they call it the cradle of Diet Civilization....
