Strict Diets Don't Work

A Prescription for Weight Loss Requires a Life Change, Not a Strict Diet Because Strict Diet Plans Don't Work

Dr. Fink has just ordered Lindsay on a strict diet, telling her she is not only fat, she's obese. Lindsay scrolls her eyes skeptically over Dr. Fink, locked in a sudden Diet Dilemma because Fink is twice her size...

If you've been to the doctor's office lately, you may have noticed a bit more padding on your professional than you would have liked to have seen. After all, doctors are our examples - they set the pace for our healthy 'Life Patterns'.

More than half are obese in America. Many got there by going on a strict diet, often one that they ordered for their patients.

But doctors aren't the only sector of the healthcare sphere that is quickly becoming a growing concern. Nurses, nutritionists and even dietitians are tipping the scales in greater numbers.

Professionals Know Health Risks Associated With Obesity, Yet Cannot Overcome Eating Addiction

The scary thing about the situation is that our healthcare givers know firsthand, the dangers and risks associated with obesity. Diabetes, heart conditions, strokes, high blood pressure - yet many are unable to overcome their own weighty issues.

Just from my personal experience, a short time ago during the course of three years I saw multiple doctors who were trying to determine the cause of pain I was having in my upper abdominal cavity.

Although this was a very scary ride that turned out to be adhesions, I noticed a troubling commonality among my doctors. All but one, a female physician, were overweight - and about half of my doctors would be considered as obese.

It is a bit troubling to someone who is trying to lose weight to be told by someone who needs to do the same.

It makes one think something like, "Why in the Diet Dickens do I want to listen to what they recommend because obviously they aren't doing as they prescribe OR what they are recommending doesn't work?"

Taking Your Good Health Seriously

More and more, it's becoming clear that our good health is in our own hands. Doctors can provide knowledge, treatment, dietary information, but they themselves - as a whole, can no longer represent an example of good health.

But with the public becoming more and more knowledgeable about health - and with so much information literally at our fingertips these days, most of us already know the Ideal - the Perfect Prescription for Weight Loss. Let's make that 'PERMANENT" weight loss.

The Prescription for Permanent Weight Loss, Strict Diets Never Work to Produce Permanent Results

1. A life plan to change the way we eat and drink starting today and lasting for the rest of our life. Trouble is, most people want to lose the weight and glut again. This ends up being one solid circle. We're like hamsters on a wheel, never getting anywhere but we're still trying.

2. An exercise plan. My father was half-nuts - in a wonderful way; he was always joking. He used to hold up his index finger and move it up and down, counting 'one, two, three, four' and then he'd say he'd performed his daily exercises. Unfortunately, we have to do more than move our fingers and wiggle our toes in order to maintain a healthy body.

But alas, most individuals aren't willing to exercise excepting during diet time.

3. We must balance the exercise and the healthy eating plan with rest. Most of us are more than willing to do this!
