Fruit Calorie Comparison Chart - Which Fruits Will Fit Best Into Your Diet Today?

Written by Diet Bites

Cup to Cup, Fruits Contain Different Calorie Values

Not all fruit calories are equal so we've created a nifty Fruit Calorie Comparison chart to help you make the best choices based on calories.

The first column contains fruits which are less than 25 calories per fruit.

While we think of cherries as a 'bunch' the calories are based on one cherry, one cranberry, and so forth.

The second column contains the next tier - grapefruit, plums, tangerines, peaches, strawberries - and then we roll into melons - and then into the apples category.

Next come the pears and bananas and at the highest end are the dried raisins and dates.

Recommended serving sizes and accurate calories are listed in the table below the Fruit Calorie Comparison Chart:

Wouldn't it be Nice if All Fruits Contained the Same Calorie Values?

It would certainly make dieting and losing weight - as well as maintaining our healthy weight a whole lot easier, wouldn't it? But unfortunately, a cup of banana doesn't contain the same amount of energy values as a cup of apricots.

Even fruits which are alike differ in energy values. A cup of Thompson Seedless Grapes contains different calorie values than a cup of Red Grapes.

The same applies to an avocado grown in Florida and one grown in California. And yes, the avocado is a wonderful super food which resides in the Fruit Group.

In addition, the energy values contained within the fruit will also vary depending upon where it was planted, grown and harvested.

A pineapple grown in Florida will different in calories than the same species which is grown in the tropics.

Indeed, this is just one example of why dieting is so challenging.
