Meal Planning Tips for Dieters

Let's take a look at our example of a dinner meal plate.

It's a great idea to put a few zero and low calorie beverages with your meal because they can assist in adding variety to the meal, as well as assist in making you feel fuller so that you are more satisfied at the end.

Pan Roasting Cuts Calories & is Healthier by Miles in Comparison to Fried Cooking Methods

For our dinner meal plate we chose a healthy serving of pan-roasted fish - but it can also be grilled, baked or cooked using any method that doesn't add extra fat.

Adding Whole Grain Goodness

We also see some steamed rice; brown rice is an even healthier whole grain choice as is wild rice. You can even add dried fruits to the wild rice to enhance nutritional values and increase flavors and textures.

Adding a Healthy Salad, Low Calorie Beverages

Note that we also have a healthy salad; one of these before your meal can act like the low calorie beverages; the salad is relatively low in caloric values but it can assist in the fullness factor for minimal calories.

Consider five calorie balsamic vinegar as your dressing for the salad. It can be a healthy mix of your favorite vegetables such as baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, shredded carrots, sliced cucumbers and mushrooms and so forth.

And let's not forget to add a chunk of crusty bread - or a roll, a slice of bread, or a bread stick to the meal plate. It's a member of the Grain Group and to achieve optimum nutrition as well as ample energy, we require more servings from this group than any other.

And finally, we have dessert - a light one featuring a mix of different varieties of fruit. This meal plate contains about 450 calories.
