Hard Diet Plan

Written by Sky Taylor, Diet Bites

Dieting Can be Brutal

Dieter Ken has traveled The Old Weight Loss Trail for many moons now, his droopy pants threadbare, his former Roman sandals now looking more like thongs, his knapsack full of rice cakes picked over by evil vultures and now he has nothing to toss onto the trail that will take him back to the Land of Milk and Honey Buns.

Crawling amid the desert heat, beneath the down-beaten sun, astride the river of soda spiked with fake sugar, our Ken slowly makes his way along train.

Thinking About Stopping Diet Plan

But suddenly, he is blinded by a bright light. The desert climate fades into a heavenly serenity. Oh no, did Ken just die or is he fixing to be punished for thinking about jumping off his diet plan?

Of course not. Ken has just entered The Blue Legume.....

The Legume Family Saves the Day

Ken's eyes open to a sea of beautiful blue - Blue Lake beans, ready to harvest after spending a mere 65 days on the vine. Stringless, so  there's nothing to twang out his sad diet song on - for there is only Diet Joy in Ken's newfound legume.

So Low in Calories, So High in Dietary Fiber Benefits

At a scant 30 calories per cup, Ken is ignited with a free spirit of dieting.

A little heat, a little no calorie butter spray - what more could a noble dieter ask for?

Perhaps a core of raw onion and a wedge of cornbread? Ken suddenly suggests.

Sure, but just a small wedge, will do.

You too, fellow dieter, can discover the fun in diet with fields of green beans which tend to hold about 1/6 the calories as pinto beans, northern beans, kidney beans and so forth.

Like a little bacon in those beans?  Rather than grabbing the salt pork, try using one or two slices of bacon.  Or after the beans are done, toss in a teaspoon of Real Bacon Bits.

Let's check out the nutritional values for green beans in their raw and cooked forms.
