The Diet
Trapped Within
Dieter
Sally felt trapped, unable to achieve permanent weight
loss. What Diet Villain lives within those clogged-artery
halls?
Sally had been on a multitude of diets in her lifetime. None worked,
or they would leave her heavier than before she began
the diet. Sally felt so trapped - as if she were
never going to lose weight - that she would be a fireplug
forever.
"To
heck with diets!" Sally decided. "Better
to just be happy and live than to be unhappy and not
live," she continued to think. And with that
thought, Sally was suddenly Diet Free.
Sally had
a passion for desserts - cheesecake, cakes that tasted
like wedding cakes, cookies of any kind except coconut
- she didn't like coconut, but oh how she loved pudding!
For years
on end, Sally continued to gain weight steadily, then
one day after looking at herself in the mirror as she
stood in her Birthday Suit, she was so shocked to see
just how much weight she had gained.
Dragging
out the weight scales, then scraping off an inch of
dust, Sally reluctantly stepped on. "Oh
my gosh," she blurted out, shocked to learn
that she was in need of losing a good hundred pounds.
Sally thought,
"Better to live and be happy than to be unhappy
and not live. I am in serious need of losing weight,
or I may be just that! Dead, and not too happy.
So I will lose all the extra weight!"
With her
mind set, Sally did just that! That's the fabulous
news! But all is not well that ends well....such is
life for soon after her weight loss success, Sally discovered
on a routine visit to her doctor that she had a hidden
heath problem - super clogged arteries, a tell-tale
of her Dessert-Loving Days combined with a family history
of heart disease.
Sally continued
to implore a diet low in fat and calories and combined
with a little help from her doctor, she managed to get
her health problem under control. Here are Sally's
wise heart-healthy tips:
Losing extra pounds will cut health risks and may even
reverse some types of damages in the body.
Once weight has been lost, keep the daily diet low in
fat.
Make those snacks healthy snacks with lots of fresh
and frozen fruits.
Bottom Line:
"Better
to just be happy and live than to be unhappy and not
live." It's all about how one views 'happy'
and how one interprets 'life'.
