Weight Loss Solutions for Summer Weight Gain

Grill like a healthy tiger rather than a Diet Kitten out of control.  Keep in mind that YOU control what goes on your grill.  

Prepare healthy grilled veggies, such as corn on the cob that will be served with no-calorie butter spray at the table, healthy lean meats grilled in spices - and so forth.

Experiment with fruit glazes and vinegars.  Zing-up your taste buds and not your waistline.  When it comes to salads - go natural!  Try finely cutting up salads, particularly lettuce.  Toss in a few chopped pecans and perhaps a chopped apple.  And be sure to use light dressings, or minimize that favorite high calorie salad dressing.

Rather than do an unhealthy drive-by at the fast food joint, invite the kids into the kitchen to prepare meals together.  Keep in mind that they are counting on you to teach them good nutrition.  Allow them to cook - as well as clean under your supervision.  Make it fun, and be sure to make it healthy.

Exercise early in the morning or late in the evening and make it an activity that you'll stick with.  Be sure to frequently hydrate with water.  Remember to warm up and cool down.

Don't eat on the fly!  Weight maintenance requires meal planning.  Just as you plan to check the oil and water in your car before driving it until it shoots out black smoke and dies, you should keep your body in check, making sure that it receives necessary maintenance to keep it running smooth.  

Enjoy THREE healthy meals per day in addition to TWO healthy snacks and a bedtime snack. Yes, pizzas are delicious and it's very hard to resist a handsome Italian.  However, you'll be spanking yourself come morning when the weight scales climb high.  

As for that unkind late light of day, try to unwind beginning no later than 9 PM.  Darken your room and don a sleeping mask if necessary.  Bottom line: getting in those important forty-winks has been shown to assist in weight loss and weight maintenance.

Rather than gulp down high calorie, high sugar beverages which contribute greatly to weight gain, limit those type refreshments to twice a day.  Incorporate clear, clean water during the rest of the day.  The more water you drink, the more you'll want.  When preparing lemonade, try tossing together this calorie friendly recipe: juice of one lemon or lime, a few packets of no calorie sweetener, one glass of cool water, ice. Calories per serving - about 10.

As for avoiding the boss' wife's cinnamon buns, those extra calories may be worth a good raise.  Just be sure to watch-it the next meal.
