How to Feel Full While Dieting

Hot Weight Loss Tips From the Dieting Expert

Dieters want to lose weight so fiercely that they are willing to endure hunger pains to accomplish such.

As an experienced dieter, I'd like to share some tips that can help the dieter quell hunger pains while achieving stellar weight loss - perhaps at an even quicker pace.

Here are a few of my favorite quick picks for dieters that will keep the tummy and/or mouth occupied and satisfied.

Frozen Vegetables - Bags contain as little as 125 calories for the entire bag - and they are virtually fat-free. If you're craving butter, bring out a bottle of no calorie butter spray. Don't forget to add the cracked pepper.

Frozen Fruits - For about 40-50 calories, you can enjoy a serving of delicious fruit. Allow to thaw - or zap in the microwave for a few seconds. Another Diet Perk for frozen fruit: It takes a long while to eat.

Pumpkin Seeds - Measure out 1/8 a cup of unhulled pumpkin seeds and you've got at least a half-hour of eating pleasure. Be sure to crack and discard the seeds, just as you would sunflower seeds. Dietary Note: Pumpkin seeds tend to be high in sodium, so check the label. If you're on a sodium-restricted diet, unhulled pumpkin seeds might be your best choice.

Winter Squash & Baby Pumpkins - Acorn squash, We-Be Little Pumpkins, Turban Squash, Baby Dumpling Squash, Butternut Squash and Hubbard Squash are just a handful of the tasty foods that will work to fill and satisfy the tummy.

Oddly enough, my dear old daddy grew rows and rows of winter squash years ago. It wasn't until after I lost over 100 pounds that I began to experiment with the squash family. I'd only known one way of preparing the larger varieties of squash at the time - boiling them. Click here for my Sinderella Butternut Squash recipe which demonstrates the versatility of this tasty bud of nature.

Beans Be Filling - A serving of brown beans (southern slang for pinto beans) and cornbread will leave one feeling full for hours (perhaps days) to come. Other great varieties of beans that have Filling Powers include: Adzuki Beans, Black Beans, Great Northern Beans, Navy Beans, Kidney Beans, Lima Beans and Garbanzo Beans.

Some Bean Tips: Add Garbanzo beans to salads, limas to soup, kidney beans to chili. Black beans create tasty Mexican dishes. Green beans do not pack the same filling powers; however they are ultra low in calories - about 27 per cup depending upon the variety. Click here to view detailed calorie and nutrition information for bean varieties.

Southwestern Burrito: Try wrapping black beans that have been seasoned with chili powder, cumin and saluted onion inside a flour tortilla filled with rice, salsa, a Tablespoon of drained whole-kernel corn and a bit of grated cheese.
