Staying Fit For Life Equals a Longer, Healthier Life
Stay fit for life. How? Play like a kid for keeps!
Enjoy life while you can as health issues creep slowly into our life - preventing us from doing the activities that we once enjoyed - even simple things that we often take for granted, like walking.
Some people want VERY BADLY to continue to do the things that they use to. But they cannot. Think about this.
You have a young dog that likes to sit beside you on a bench. Every day you go into the garden and relax with your dog who is sitting on the bench beside you. Every day, the dog hops onto the bench, effortlessly. Then one day, he stumbles a bit - just a tiny bit. It's an ever so slight stumble.
The next day he jumps up with no problems. Over the years you notice that he is having more and more trouble hopping onto the bench. One day, he just can't do it anymore.
At Times, Ageing Issues With Mobility Become an Unwanted Part of Our Life
As humans, we have the same problem. We want to desperately continue to do the things that we want to, but there comes a time when that may not be possible.
Appreciating What We Have, in This Moment in Time
Some seniors resent youth - not because they covet their un-exhaustive energy, rather because youth doesn't have an appreciation for their capabilities. You see, sometimes we just don't miss something until it disappears. We don't appreciate what we have until it is gone.
The good news is that there are some things that you can do to keep your vitality at an optimum level!
Combating Laziness for a Healthier Lifestyle, Unfortunately, Laziness Often Wins Out
Knock over Mr. or Ms. Lazy and begin to think like a kid again. Remember the things that you did back then? Hanging from trees, running down the lanes, jumping rope, hopping, skipping and so forth. While some of these activities may no longer be feasible, find new, fun, exciting modes of activity.
By ditching those lazy days and lazy ways, you'll be increasing your level of health and possibly adding years to your life.
The sad thing is....most of the time, laziness prevails. While most of us have much easier jobs that our parents or grandparents, involving less manual labor, our stress levels are much higher than what they may have experienced. In today's world - it's all about increasing. Politicians rant about increasing population, commerce, energy to move nations, financial wealth and so forth. We're so centered on increasing - that we don't often take time to appreciate what we currently have.
Do you have clothes to wear? Food to eat? A clean place to live and sleep? If so, you are among the most fortunate on earth. And if you have love, you are even more fortunate.
And these days, rather than focusing on increasing our bank accounts, the population and so forth - we'd be better served by increasing our activity level which in turn can assist in trimming our waistlines. Rather than overloading and overburdening Mother Earth with people, we'd also be best off to take care of those who currently reside here. For to neglect those in needs - is the most careless, laziest act of all....
