Article by Diet Bites

Caloric Values, Single Serving

Different varieties of flour contain varying amounts of energy values.

For example, light rye contains only 21 kcals per cup while dark rye contains more than three times the values at over 70 kcals.

Health & Nutrition Notes for Flour

Other nutritional elements also vary. While peanut flour contains 108 milligrams of salt, sunflower seed flour contains only 2 milligrams.

Zinc values can climb as high as 25 milligrams for sesame seed flour to less than a gram for arrowroot.

If protein values are important, those highest in values include: dark rye, barley, besan, peanut, soy, buckwheat, whole wheat and sunflower. But cottonseed is very rich at almost 40 grams of protein. However, when we look at sesame seed flour - it almost doubles these values at about 70 grams.
