Calories in Celery Per Serving

Article by Diet Bites

Caloric Values, Single Serving

One cup of raw chopped celery contains 16 calories. One large stalk (not the entire stalk - just one of the long pieces attached to the base of the specimen) contains only 10 calories.

Celery is commonly used as a seasoning agent for soups, casseroles, stews and stir fry dishes along with onions, garlic and different varieties of bell peppers.

Serving Suggestions for Celery

It is such a versatile food. Here are just a few serving suggestions for dieters:

1. Enjoy at snack time in its plain state.

2. Fill the crevice with light pineapple cream cheese - or your favorite low calorie filler such as reduced fat pimento cheese.

3. Add to salads in chopped form.
