No need to pay top dollar for a can of pickled beets when you can make them in a flash - and this recipe will keep the calories in check. Simply drain one can of pickled beets. They can be sliced, whole - any slice or cut that you choose. You'll want to drain the juice into a small microwaveable dish - or a pan if you wish to use the stove top. A 1 teaspoon of vinegar to the juice and heat until bubbly. Remove and add 1/4 cup of Splenda (use more or less to suit your personal taste) or use real sugar if desired keeping in mind that this will impact the calories by 200 extra calories.
