Sweet, Low Calorie Options for Weight Loss
Sometimes
a dieter just needs something sweet - something deliciously
rich without all the weight of calories - which will
contribute to a very 'hip' hip.
Here
are a few of our favorite, low calorie options when
the Sweet Tooth Fairy strikes:
This is one of my favorite sweet treats. Take
a single serving container of LIGHT yogurt (110 calories
or less) and mix with 1/4 a container of thawed Cool
Whip FREE. At 15 calories per serving, the entire
container of Cool Whip FREE contains less than 400 calories
- so 1/4 of a container is just under 100 calories.
This
sweet treat is absolutely rich and delicious with minimal
fat and calories weighing in at about 200 calories.
Sometimes I add a bit of Splenda and/or extract.
Rum extract tastes great with vanilla yogurt.
Egg roll wrappers
can generally be found in the fresh produce section
of your local market. For only 75 calories - you
can enjoy four!
I fill
mine with a bit of fresh, canned or thawed frozen fruit
and add a bit of Splenda and ground cinnamon. Then I
seal the edges and drop into boiling water.
They
will sink - so be care that they don't stick to the
bottom of your pot. They will slowly rise. I
like mine a bit gummy, so I don't cook them long.
Once
I remove them from the pot, I allow them to drain, then
dust them with powdered sugar and add a dollop of fat
free whipped topping.
Rich cocoa makes a delectable sweet treat for dieters
when prepared with 1 cup of skimmed milk, heated.
Add
1 Tablespoon of powdered cocoa to 1 Tablespoon of water
and mix into a paste. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla
extract. Next, add to the warm milk.
Top
with a few mini-marshmallows if desired and pop into
the microwave until cocoa is foamy on top. Sprinkle
with a bit of powdered sugar OR powdered cocoa.
