Skinny Dandelion Green Salad for Dieters

Recipe Ingredients

4 cups of fresh Spring Greens, containing Dandelion Greens
6 cherry tomatoes
thin slices of cucumber
1 ounce of shredded skim-based mozzarella cheese
2 slices of bacon prepared in the microwave and crumbled [50 kcals]
1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms
3 sliced black olives
1 thick slice of avocado cut into chunks
fruit based, low calorie salad dressing such as Walnut-Raspberry

How to Prepare

Simply mix all of the ingredients in a serving bowl. Drizzle with the low calorie dressing. Add buttery croutons if you wish.

Diet Tips for Dandelion Greens & Avocado

1. The nutritional values in the Avocado impact the thyroid in a positive manner and may assist in speeding-up weight loss. They contain the good, healthier fat sources. Look for the ones grown in Florida rather than in California as they contain less fat and caloric values.

2. As to a tasty and easy recipe for dandelion greens, try adding dried fruits such as golden raisins and dried cranberries to your next bag of spring mix, along with hulled pumpkin seeds and chopped English walnuts.

Top with a serving of fruit-based salad dressing that is of the fat-reduced variety. Delicious and oh-so nutritious!

These are one of my favorite ingredients for salads.

Although they are not commonly sold as a stand-alone at the market, they more generally appear in 'spring mix' bags.

We do not recommend harvesting your own dandelion greens unless you are well-versed in this area.

Here is why:

1. You might accidentally pick a weed that will add poison to the pot.

2. Those harvested near well-traveled areas by vehicles can contain dust or other contaminants that can be harmful for the human body.
