Cherries & Cream Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup of fresh sweet dark cherries
1/4 cup [2 servings worth] of Italian or Vanilla or French Vanilla Coffee Creamer
1 Teaspoon of granulated table Sugar

How to Prepare

Choose a clear wine glass and fill with pitted dark cherries. Add two Tablespoons of the liquid coffee creamers listed above - or your favorite coffee creamer - and you can opt for the reduced fat, sugar free varieties if you wish to save on calories.

Sprinkle with the granulated sugar if more sweetness is desired OR top with light whipped topping for an additional 15 skinny calories.

Recipe Ingredients

1/2 cup of 100% Cherry Juice
1/2 cup of Seltzer [Fizzy] Water
1 Teaspoon of granulated table Sugar

How to Prepare

Pour the juice into a tall clear glass, add the seltzer water and then the table sugar. A beautiful foam will form at the top of the skinny drink. It's so much fun to drink - and it tastes fabulous.

Skinny Cherry Shake Recipe

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup of pitted cherries, frozen
1 cup of reduced fat milk
1/2 to 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or imitation vanilla

How to Prepare

Place 1 cup of the sweet pitted frozen fruit into a blender along with a cup of ice-cold skim milk.

Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or imitation vanilla.

Blend until thick and enjoy with a sandwich prepared with whole grain bread, a slice of lean meat, reduced fat cheese and packed with lots of vegetables such as lettuce leaves and sliced tomato.

As your spread, opt for light salad dressing - such as honey mustard or poppyseed. The dressings make a very nice switch from traditional mustard and Mayo and compliment your Skinny Cherry Shake well.

Diet Tips for Cherries

1. Add pitted cherries to commercially boxed quick bread recipes.

2. Add to your morning bowl of cold or hot cereal.

3. Enjoy frozen from the freezer. They take quite a while to eat and on those warm summer days - they are oh-so-refreshing!
