Diet Article: Avoiding Foods that Trigger Weight GainHow to avoid foods that can promote and cause weight gain and unhealthy eating.
Many, many, many moons ago when I was a little girl, a scorpion stung the whang out of me when I accidentally picked it up. There was this door mat that had all these bristly fuzzies on it - and the wind had kicked up. I was darting all over the porch and collecting the tiny fibers as the wind caught them. That's when I accidentally picked up the scorpion. And to this day - I am very careful when I encounter scorpions due to their beastly sting. Even when I shot the photo in this diet article - I was a good distance away. It got me to thinking about dieting - and how particular foods and beverages in our daily routine can sting our diet to death. As in the case of my childhood Scorpion Encounter, the demon sting made me remember 'not to touch'. As in the case of our daily diet, the sting comes in the form of weight gain. But because weight gain is often a slow process accomplished over several weeks, months or years, an individual might not even realize how different they felt before the weight was packed on - so those extra calories may not appear to be a threat. They may attribute less energy, less stamina, a foggy state of mind, and those familiar aches and pains to ageing rather than weight gain.
With this said, if you are having difficulty in gaining unwanted weight, it might help to think of those extra calories as threatening obstacles in Life's Pathway. Weight gain is a direct risk to one's health which can be conquered by embracing a healthy diet which contains the amount of energy (calories) that the body requires to function each day. It's certainly not easy to lose weight - but it's better than being stung by the Weight Gain Scorpion. I'm in your corner, rooting the loudest for YOU!
