Dried Foods, Depleted of Water Values

As to those holding the least water, you'll find those in the dried food section at your local market.

Dehydrating wicks out the moisture which in turn makes the fruit much lighter while increasing shelf life. Dried fruits are often part of our stash when we plan a camping or hiking trip out into the wild blue yonder.

Dieting Tips for Fruits

Avocado Resides in the Healthy Fruit Group

If we look at our data chart below we see that avocado is listed. It, along with the tomato, reside in the Fruit Group Family - botanically speaking. In addition, the tomato lives there too!

Because of such, many one-food recipes can contain servings from the Basic Five Food Groups.

Cheeseburgers, Pizza, Sandwiches, Tacos - They can all contain the Five Basic Food Groups.

A great example is the cheeseburger. Protein Group = Lean Ground Beef; Dairy = Slice of Cheese, Vegetables = Onion, Lettuce, Fruit = Sun-ripened Tomato and Grain = Whole Grain Bun.

The cheeseburger - when prepared with lean ground beef and reduced fat cheese and mustard as the spread [or reduced fat Mayo] can be a part of your healthy diet plan. Who knew it would be so much fun dieting?

What about pizza? Can it fit into your weight loss plan? Sure can! When vegetables are added along with a protein source such as whole beans or lean meats, it too contains the Basic Five - as do tacos and sandwiches.
